HIGH POINT – AkzoNobel, which manufacturers the Chemcraft brand of industrial wood coatings, has added Horizon Forest Products to its growing distribution network. Horizon began its partnership with AkzoNobel and became a Chemcraft distributor in May.

Horizon has been in business for more than 75 years and has 11 branch offices that serve customers from Maryland to South Carolina along the East Coast and also in Houston and Plano, Texas.

In those areas, the company has a team of sales and technical professionals that provide a full line of lumber, sheet goods, cabinets, flooring, moldings, abrasives, wood stains and coatings for its customer base.

“Horizon Forest Products positions the Chemcraft brand in key North Carolina cities, and it has a loyal customer base that can now take advantage of our high-quality line of wood coatings,” said Ron Cooper, AkzoNobel’s Chemcraft distribution segment manager, adding that AkzoNobel is pleased to “have it in the Chemcraft family with product made at our High Point site.”

“Chemcraft is an industry leading brand that provides great innovation and product quality with market-leading customer support,” said David Guistwite, cabinet branch leader for Horizon Forest Products. “We’ve been pleased with its commitment to sustainability in the wood industry, and we are excited to share its portfolio with our cabinet makers and wood product customers.”
