HIGH POINT – Industry veteran Dallas George has been named managing director for Eichholtz USA, a new position that takes effect June 15. He comes to the luxury furniture, lighting and home accessories resource from Pulaski, a division of Home Meridian International, where he has worked the past 11 years.
George was most recently vice president for the Accentrics Home division of HMI, where he developed an omnichannel retail concept for brick-and-mortar retailers. Before that he was vice president, sales and vice president, sales for the West Coast for Pulaski.
Before joining Pulaski, George was vice president, retail concept development at Lexington Home Brands for about three years and previously had worked for Thomasville and Armstrong Furniture.
In his new position, he reports to Robin Goemans, chief operating officer at Netherlands-based Eichholtz. He will be responsible for marketing, merchandising and supervising about 40 sales representatives in the U.S. He also will manage the company’s rapidly expanding retail channel and help enhance both customer service and distribution aspects of the business.
I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
