WATERFORD, N.Y. – Bedding resource Soft-Tex International said it will not be open at the summer Las Vegas Market, but will instead offer buyers a virtual market experience that showcases new product and allows them the chance to interact with the company’s sales team.
The company said customers will be able to view its new Active Chill Powered by Reactex branded pillows and personal cooling pads which feature the pinnacle level of Reactex technology that provides sustained, all-night cooling. Pillows are available in jumbo and king sizes, which retail at $169.99 and $199.99 respectively.
New to the line is the Active Chill Micro-Climate Cooling Pad, which retails at $149.99. It is designed to provide cooling for the individual without changing the feel of the mattress or the climate of one’s partner.
Also new at market is the cylindrical shaped Active Chill Ultimate Bolster Pillow, which is 12 inches in diameter by 36 inches long. It is designed for use as a maternity pillow or for side sleepers who want a cooler sleep experience throughout the body.
Other new items the company is promoting include new packaging and fabrics for the Cool Cotton and Essentials protector lines, which fall under the DreamSmart protection line. Also being added to the assortment is the Gripwise, a five-sided waterproof mattress protector that offers five-sided protection and four-way stretch leveraging Soft Tex’s proprietary Gripwise skirt technology.
Information about the virtual tour, launched on YouTube, will be forthcoming. The Furniture & International Division also will be hosting virtual meetings and line reviews with customers.
I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
